Our track removal crews set us apart
We don’t just broker a price for your scrap like a lot of other railroad scrap companies. With highly-specialized track removal crews at the ready, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty and do the tough work of rail take-up and clean up for you. We’ll break it down and cart it away safely and efficiently, then hand you a check for the materials at the end of the job, all at minimal cost to your business.
Recycling Consultants has the capability of running 4-5 rail scrap crews at a time, consisting of 3-4 men per rail scrap crew all trained in rail identification. Each track removal crew is equipped with a Hi-Rail Truck and torches used for cutting rail. And when it comes to safety, we don’t mess around. Every one of our employees is trained through Federal Railroad Administration’s On-Track Safety (OTS) courses and receives e-RAILSAFE certification. From hard hats to steel-toed boots, our men wear the gear they need to keep them protected at all times while performing necessary operations. Rest assured, protecting our men and the rail yards is our top priority.
Our track removal crews also specialize in identification of rail qualifications, including Reroll Rail, Relay Rail and 2’ OTM (Foundry Grade). Depending on the condition and type of material, they’ll determine if each load will meet the specifications required from the steel mill receiving the material.
When it comes to the transportation of goods, we’ve got that covered, too. In order to get from point A to point B in a timely manner, we enforce strong communication between our broker, crew supervisor, logistics manager and the location manager at the current job site where we are operating. Time is crucial when it comes to track time, trucking and market deadlines. We have refined this operation time and again to be efficient and effective on every job we perform.
